Homemade Sachet Bags For Your Closet

Homemade Sachet Bags for Your Wardrobe

The closet may have a foul odor. Sachet bags will help freshen up your closet or drawers.

Closet and drawers easily retain odors due to the accumulation of dust and moisture. These odors can also affect the clothes you keep inside. While there are many commercial air fresheners that you can use, you can also make homemade sachet bags with some basic ingredients.

There are several ways to improve the smell in the closet:

  1. First of all, you can air it regularly. Air circulation will help to improve the smell in the closet.
  2. You can also thoroughly wash the closet and remove any dust, mold, or other debris.

To make your closet smell nice every day, you can make small aromatic bags with plants and other ingredients. They are very easy to prepare and mostly contain ingredients that you probably already have at home.

1. Aromatic sachet with apples and cinnamon

Due to its characteristic aroma, cinnamon perfectly eliminates odors and scares away insects. The combination of these two ingredients creates a natural air freshener that neutralizes odors indoors.

Ingredients:

  • an apple peel;
  • 3 cinnamon sticks;
  • fabric bags.

How to make:

  1. First, peel the apples and leave them to dry in the sun.
  2. Next, cut the skin and place them in a cloth bag with cinnamon sticks.
  3. Place the bags in the corners of the closet or drawers.

If you want the smell to be strong, change the sachet at least once a week.

2. Aromatic sachet with citrus

The strong aroma of citrus fruits is also ideal for eliminating stale odors in the closet.

Also, they are ideal for other rooms, such as the bathroom, kitchen, or bedroom. Also, they scare away moths and other insects.

Ingredients:

  • orange peels;
  • zests;
  • 1/4 cup of rice;
  • fabric bags.

How to make:

  1. First, dry the citrus peels.
  2. Then cut them into several pieces and put them in a fabric bag.
  3. Next, add the rice to the bag and close it.
  4. Put the bag in the right place.

You can make several bags and place them in every corner of your closet, as well as in other rooms of the house.

The advantage of these aromatic sachets is that the rice will also absorb moisture. For this reason, it is one of the best ways to neutralize odors in your home.

3. Sachet with aromatic herbs

You can mix your favorite herbs to create the scent you like best.

Aromatic herbs such as lavender, rosemary, and thyme are great for removing odors. You can use them in your wardrobe to improve the smell as well as scare away insects.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of fragrant herbs that you like (you can use only one herb or combine different herbs);
  • 5 carnations;
  • 1/4 cup of rice;
  • fabric bag.

How to make:

  1. First, cut the herbs and put them in a cloth bag.
  2. Then add rice and cloves.
  3. Put the bag in the corner of the closet.

4. Sachet with scented candles

If you’ve always wanted to use leftover scented candles, here’s an idea. You can make this very simple aromatic sachet. All you need to do is dry the melted candle wax.

Ingredients:

  • dried candle wax (minimum 50g);
  • fabric bag.

How to make:

  1. First, the dried melted wax and grind it.
  2. Then place it in a cloth bag and close.
  3. Put the bag in your closet.

The best way to use it is to put a few in different corners of the closet to keep the smell longer.

Choose the option that suits you best. You will notice the difference in how your closet smells without resorting to chemical air fresheners.
